The swine flu is still causing panic, or at least some understandable precautions, in other parts of the world and it is now the beginning of June. Mayor Ray Nagin of New Orleans, his wife, and their bodyguard are currently being quarantined in Shanghai. Chinese officials suspected that someone aboard the flight carrying the New Orleanians was infected with the H1N1 swine flu virus. To prevent further infections, everyone has been quarantined and is currently being examined to make sure that they test negative for the virus.

Nagin was visiting Shanghai in an effort to build a relationship with the Chinese that would further economic development in New Orleans. Right now, no further information is being released at this time as to whether or not the mayor and his wife will be able to leave the country at this time or if they are going to have to stay indefinitely.

The last updates on this situation were that the Nagin's and their bodyguard did not show any signs of being infected with the swine flu.
